Thanks for checking me out!

The gist…

Hey I’m Tharini Rouwette and have been calling Australia my home for over 10 years now and currently live in Melbourne, Victoria. Professionally, I live at the intersection of sustainability, media, and technology and currently work for start2see, a niche consultancy focusing on life cycle assessments and am a board member of Teachers on Wheels; a non-profit dedicated to providing mobile education to children in remote parts of the world. I also volunteer for a number of tech organisations, run my own podcast, OZgirl Politics and my own tech vlog called Tech Bacon (TBA).

My professional experience…

I have over 15 years of experience as a senior business development and marketing professional and have worked in a broad scope of industries ranging from creative agencies, tourism to digital media and healthcare SAAS technology. Some prominent corporate clients I have procured and worked for include Amazon Web Services, Facebook, DBS Bank Singapore, Roche Pharmaceuticals and Singtel Optus, just to name a few. I have demonstrated to have strong stakeholder engagement/influencing skills, especially at C-level. I am politically astute and have the ability to align stakeholders to a common vision- a skill that I have honed thanks to the various C-level mentors I encountered throughout my career.

My passion…

I am hell-bent on getting more women engaged in technology and politics. Some of my passion projects to help with my endeavor are as follows:

  • Determined Us – A pre-seed stage NFP to review large companies based purely on diversity metrics (it’s still a work in progress)
  • Allies in Politics – A podcast where I try and make politics less scary and provide information on how women and migrants in Australia can get politically involved
